Burn test shows that it is a natural fiber fabric, but, I don't know which. It has a soft hand and drapes very beautifully. The color is made from maroon and white threads woven together giving a  dusty mauve appearance. It is a little lighter weight than most bottom fabrics, it is more of a dress weight. There isn't any stretch in the crossgrain but lengthwise there is a little give. This is a nice fabric!
