The yarn itself is a thick drapey shiney slightly overspun single-ply yarn that feels and knits very much like recycled sari silk yarn. Banana stalks and leaves have long been used for fabrics. Modern methods for processing banana fibers yield what is technically a rayon fiber. Frabjous Fiber’s yarn comes from remnants from the clothing industry and is handspun by women in Nepal and India. The yarn is available kettle dyed or handpainted. Fair trade.
All my items come from a non-smoking home. It's been a few years since I had dogs or cats, and when I did they were kept away from the stash, but I can't guarantee a hair or two didn't make it in.
