This is a true black liverpool cotton knit. Liverpool knit has a pattern knitted into it, almost like a jacquard. The pattern isn't visible until you look closely. It has great recovery although it doesn't have spandex, similar to an interlock. It doesn't curl up at the edges like a jersey, so it's a great fabric for beginners. The fabric has a bit more transparency than you'd expect from a light-to-midweight knit due to the way its knitted. You may want to line it, especially if you make it into something that is close-fitting. It's a great weight for tops, dresses, joggers, and skirts.
The fabric looks gray because I wanted to show the detail of the knit and because I'm a terrible photographer when it comes to black fabrics. But it is a true black fabric.
This fabric is sold by the half yard.
